Nolan received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2012. After graduation, he worked at Tri Alpha Energy for one year as a pulsed power engineer on the C-2 fusion energy experiment. Nolan then accepted a position as an engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory, where he spent several years researching Field-Reversed Configuration (FRC) propulsion and Hall Thruster facility interactions. Currently, Nolan is a 1st year graduate student majoring in Aerospace Engineering at UCLA.
